Vatsalyadham is spread across an area of 1,00,000 sq. ft., most of which is a green zone. The only criterion for admission is that the person should be above 60 years of age. There is no other discrimination of caste and religion etc. Those who do not have any immediate family members and are economically weak and those without children are given priority. All facilities are provided at a very nominal cost. Currently it has 24 rooms with two beds each (2 persons in one room), 2 cupboards, attached toilet and bathroom. Provision has also been made for accommodation of in-house staff and guests. A swing has also been provided in the lobby in front of each room. It also houses a big hall “Anando” for prayers/yoga/get-togethers, an office room, a well-maintained modern kitchen, spacious dining hall, store room, library, kitchen garden, etc. Vatsalyadham is nestled in a lush and serene natural setting, surrounded by verdant tress and well-manicured gardens. All the rooms are spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. All rooms have large windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding gardens and lake. Ayurvedic doctors visit once a week to ensure the well-being of the residents. Health checkup of residents is done on quarterly basis and they are guided for further treatment, if needed. Multiple activities related to health, religion, entertainment, general knowledge, Vedic mathematics, meditation and self-help training are carried out every week. All festivals are celebrated with equal zeal and enthusiasm. Residents are also taken for religious tours. Children from Reliance school visit Vatsalyadham twice a month and spend time with the senior citizens, thereby fostering a sense of compassion and respect towards the older generation.
